New TV

Thank you Trinidex for responding.
I was unable to find the Composite Input Mode.
No Matter I have made significant progress.
I can now tune in Araing on 58 and it is very clear.
I still have one more hurdle to accomplish.
There is no bar from the Uniden that gives the click count
of where I am pointing the dish.

Here are the connections that produce the above:
Uniden: bp-12 to tv ant/cable (both screw in connections)

TV: Set the input to HDMI 3.
Screwed in wire to ant/cable on TV from the Uniden bp-12.
Green connector from the tv to the Openbox "pb connector"

Openbox: PB connection to the green connector on the TV (y/video)

To see the Uniden on the tv,the tv must be tuned to analog channel, 3 or 4,usually.The Uniden will either have a small (tiny) switch on the back, near the tv out connection,or an on screen menu (which you apparently can't see at the moment),to select the tv channel to output.

Thank you for responding Waylew.
God I wish it was as simple as that.
I know about that switch and it has been set to 4 for years.
There is the possibility that the Toshiba needs it set to 3.

On the TV you have two potential inputs to use with the Uniden: One named "Y/Video" and one named "Ant In". You should be able to hook the Uniden's BP-11 connector "Video" to the Y/Video connector on the TV and then select the Video input source in the TV, and/or connect the Uniden's BP-12 connector "TV Out" to the TV's "Ant In" connector and tune to channel 3 or 4 (sounds like you're already using Ch 4).

Good luck!

If you turn the Uniden off when trying to view it, do you still see snow (especially if using the "Video" input)? As it's an analog receiver it may be transmitting snow unless it happens to be tuned to one of the very few analog channels left.

Thanks for responding Balock.
No, I am not seeing snow now.
I have a wire connected from the Uniden bp-12 to the Toshiba
ant/cable. The Uniden only has threads on two connectors bp-14
and BP-12. Any other connection means buying another cable.

At the present time I have no click count showing from the Uniden.
So I can't move the dish as wouldn't know where I am at.
I have also lost sound to my TV Ears. Still playing with both of
these problems.

Is this what you have on the back of the tv?If so ;
for direct video from the Uniden, hook the yellow plug to the green jack on the tv,you may(will probably) have to change a setting in the the tv to use composite instead of component .
If you can get analog channel 3 on the tv,flip the switch on the Uniden to ch 3.
If you can't get the tv to go to ch4 by just pressing 0 4,press the menu button on the Uniden and then do a channel scan on the tv.

SUCCESS..........
Many thanks to everyone who helped.
Many thanks to Satelliteguys for this site.

Once I got it through my thick skull that HDMI is Video and AUDIO,
everything started to fall in place.
The Toshiba has to be set to HDMI3 to watch tv.
To use the Uniden to push the dish, the input has to be changed to "Video".
Then I am able to get the click count bar.
I was using TVEARS analog because of the old tv. TVEARS has a digital
connection and so does the Toshiba. What a difference. I would say my
hearing is now 90% plus.
What a hassle but needless to say I am a happy camper now:)
This would have been impossible without Satelliteguys and the people
on it.

Now why didn't I think of that !

That setup is slightly different to what I was thinking of, but it's the same principal, a single shared input.

I see the op managed to get into work, quite an active thread!
