I'm wanting to upgrade to HD. Right now i have a Dish 500 with a DPP Twin pointing at 110/119. As i understand HD channels are on 61.5 and 129. The 129 bird is out of the question due to trees. I have a clear LOS to the 61.5 bird. If i told CS of this situation, would the installer just install another dish (500 or 300) for 61.5 and feed the coax from it to the input on my DPP Twin?

That's how my setup is and I am using a DP34 switch for 3 lnb inputs and 4 outputs for receivers. On mine I had to feed through to a second switch because I needed more than 4 outputs.

yes the tech that comes out can put up another 500 dish and point it at 61.5 and just run it into your dpp twin. it will also give you a better signal strength that pointing it at 129

I just didn't want the installer wasting his time installing a Dish 1000. I have a 301 in my son's room and i'll upgrading my 625 to a 622.

Just to clarify I have a dish 500 pointed at 119/110 and a second dish 500 (could use Dish 300 instead) pointed at 61.5. The three downleads go directly to the DP34 multiswitch as it has 3 lnb inputs.

I know that , I was just telling him what I have. The main point is that he can use the 2 dishes. The hookup will be according to what hardware he has. I guess I wasn't very clear.

That would be the correct answer to the OP's question.

Also, BTW, on behalf of the fine folks here at Satellite Guys, to kwhite0146:

:welcome

Knoxville SD locals are on 110. I don't find any local HD for Knoxville in the charts right now . He already said he has tree obstruction in 129 direction anyway.

Dish Installer coming Tuesday or Wednesday
