New to FTA

I m trying to set up my FTA system. My receiver is pansat 3500s, the dish is 35.5 inches and it aslo has a DiSEqC HH Motor SG-2100. I m trying to set up the receiver and I have problems in setting up the frequancy. So far I have 0% quality. I live in MD and my zip code is 20879.

I would remove the motor and try to just work on finding and storing a few satellites first!

I found a good compass takes alot of pain out of it (a compass with a declination setting, i.e., sunnto or silva ranger). What I did was found true south, not magnetic but true and lined up my dish on that (motor and dish attached), then tightened down the bolts fairly tight. Then moved the dish to T5 or other closest south sat with USALS, then adjusted for elevation and peaked a signal. The biggest thing is to make sure you have your lnb settings right....universal is 10600 and linear is 10750, and your lat/long inputed correctly on the receiver i.e., 100 degs north, 60 degs west (whatever your actual is) to ensure that the usals goes to the right place. Then your in business.
