I currently have an expired contract --- operating on month-to-month basis with two DVRs running four tvs and SD only.

My sweet wife desires HD.

No need to elaborate ---- this means we WILL get HD.

What will be the difference in cost to use one of the two methods which has to result in two(2) 722 DVRs?

Method 1 --- renew in MY name (current account holder) and get 2 722s, HD service, and a 24mo contract

Method 2 -- obtain a NEW customer account (in wife's name @ same address and same last name) and get 2 722s and a 24mo contract

I'm thinking there could well be a savings on a new account BUT will there be any hassle from E* as to my wife being a NEW customer using the same address and same last name as the existing contract?

I am conversant with the hookup for the 2 722s having one HD and one SD each.

Guess you'll have to try and get an account in her name. If you can't then there is no question.
