Lan only for rvu, it works similiar to dlna, any yes you can plug the hr34 direct with ethernet, i just happened to have a setup where it was easier to put it in the "kids" room. Aka reptile room, complete with meat eating lizard 2 current snakes, 1 that is in isolation for another month yet (new purchase) and a bearded dragon. The living room has another pair of lizards. But as far as cck vs direct hardwire to hr34 im not sure which is preferred, i can tell you the only time ive seen a rvu tv working was with a cck, but the setup was upgraded to genie after the mrv came out.
