I finally got new Directv remotes. The 8 and 9 button on my client and the dash and 0 on the Genie remotes barely worked anymore. I programmed the TV client just fine, but the Genie remote won't program my TV. When I click on the "setup TV" icon, it does nothing. I tried it in IR and RF modes but nothing happens. Any tips?

Also, the volume lock feature doesn't work. I can set it up, select AV1 Denon audio, and it does its thing. It even displays "Volume lock assigned to Denon Audio" when complete, but it doesn't work. When I press volume, it gives the "you've pressed a key on the remote dedicated to operating a TV, but your remote isn't programmed for your TV yet..." then back to not being able to select "setup TV"...
I can't access that screen. I can't select "setup TV"... It is stuck on where it says "setup av1" etc. I can setup my AV1 but nothing happens when I press "setup TV" ... I don't know how else to describe it!

Slide the slider to tv mode and hold mute select the lights will flash after about 3 seconds. Type in 9-9-1 lights flash hit 9 again then proceed to hit the channel up, LG is a quick one, only hit channel up 3 or 4 times

You don't access that screen, hold mute and select until the lights flash and then enter the code

I think I am missing something. When I press mute and select, that message appears. The lights flash as you say, and I input the 991 then 9 and channel up. It doesn't take. I have tried it with the slider over Directv and TV. I have tried both codes here (The remote is RC65RX). Could it be the CE software?
Arite hold mute and select with the mode switch on tv. Ignore anything that comes up on the screen. The lights flash twice. Enter 10178. The lights flash twice again. Now hold mute and select again. Again ignoring whatever shows on the screen. Enter 960 and count how many times the light flashes. If it flashes twice your done. If it flashes 4x. Then hold mute and select one last time. Enter 960 again. It will flash twice. Slide the mode switch back to directv and just say program later or hit exit to clear the screen. Your remote is now programmed.

Np man. When you've been a tech for 8yrs you end up memorizing the major manufacturer codes lol. Makes installs and such alot faster for me. Plus I own 4 lg tvs personally lol.

Honestly the x series remotes have caused nothing but problems for me. I still program manually for all installs other than genies
It's hard telling but half the time it don't work anyways. If I can't get it with channel up or the several codes I have memorized I revert back to my code book. I never use the auto code thing
