Hi All

We just got a new shipment of Fortec's NEW 90cm dishes (FC90N).

And still a cream color, I see.
Thought they were moving to a charcoal, as in their bigger dishes?

Well, it looks nice.
Send one over and I'll compare it to the old one I got 3..4 years ago, and an un-named charcoal 36'er. -

Your web site has a typo for the gain. It lists

Higher KU band signal gain (33.34 dB) than the competition.

But the specs show

KU – Band Gain @12.5 GHz
39.34 dB

To me it seems as if it should really be called a 85cm dish and not a 90cm, as its effective aperture would be slightly less than the 85cm width. Since the dish is an offset dish, the height (90cm) appears to be smaller when the satellite looks at the dish because it is tilted.

No matter what the dimensions, it's the gain factor that is important.

This is just a pet peve of mine as the different manufacturers use different parameters in the naming of there dishes. One manufacturers 85cm dish can be actually bigger than anothers 90cm dish. You have to read the specs carefully to really find out what you are buying, with the gain factor being what really counts.
