Very cool...It says AC3 (Option)....Hum...no direct decoding like S9 I guess.

Manual PID...

Where is the manual? They need to release some more info and send me one to test!

Its too bad they removed the ATSC tuner that is in the 9200. I have never found a more sensitive ATSC tuner in any other device.

more choices
New Pansat 9500HDX
just found these. best about it i see is the servo motor control.
USB PVR
PANAREX

Pansat always supported polorotor control which is cool. I see it has a Real Time Clock like the 3500 had. Glad to see Pansat still in the game.

Wow , I guess with the ton of e-mails asking for corrections on the 9200 they decided to go with a new unit. Hope they fix the majority of bugs reported in the 9200. 9200 was recognize because of the inclution of the ATSC tuner, so this is something Pansat users will miss. I see something never seen before, Skew LNB Control???

Yeah that's great. Now, they just need to throw in a built-in 36v positioner.

I think there is some new law that they can only use 24 volts and be UL listed. If they put a motor drive in a DVB receiver it would be more or less a full blown IRD. That would be nice.

After the 9200 I will never buy another pansat product ever again. They lost my loyalty with that piece of crap product they put out. Ill be going the azbox route all the way!

Servo control on a STB that can do S2 would be great. When it's available, I'll get one.

They are available now...do a search for 9500HDX on ebay. $196

The Pansat site has no manual but they have a June something FW update which is a abs file. Looks like another ALI box which means no 422 but I have a nice corotor II I removed because of no skew. Some of us guys would like that for those off skew birds.

I ask the seller a question about the manual. There must be a PDF available somewhere. The Manhattan manual was up long before its release as a preview of its planned features.

At $200 (close enough) I'd like to see someone put in a faster processor...just plain old Tim the tool man Taylor "more power"!

Menu lag, pixelating, slow remote response, I think all of that can be contributed to a slow processor. Only when you sit still on a channel does it decode and display correctly on the S9. It is the worst on 1080i channel...just bringing up the info dogs it pretty good.

My Viewsat Ultra's menus and remote just fly...of course it is not S2 so if you're going to handle 1080i put in the horse power to do it smoothly.

Well, if they think they've got a $200 product, let it be compared to the $200 Manhattan!
And to the under-$200 S9 & S10's on the market.

By the end of this year, SatAV may roll out a product to compete.
If he does, my money will be on it.

Let the best receiver win!
Or at least: limp home bleeding from the fight. - :up

I think all the new H2 receivers are good news and forcing Openbox to fix their FW...I really like the servo...but I don't know if that one feature (well PID too) is worth $70.

If it don't directly decode AC3 through HDMI etc, well, that is one against it for me.

Me too!

But... I thought that charlie went after them!?!?!?...

How did they survive???

Charlie tried to kill a few things in the big dish game, guess he failed with Pansat and the 4DTV. Long live the Bud!! Screw Dush Network and Ergan! :neener

I forgot about that - it's so convenient that my SSO does that. I'm still interested though . . . decisions, decisions . . .

so the 9500 adds a polorotor option and S2 internally but drops the OTA option? Also they switched from a esata to a USB option for the hard drive

Wonder how well it works on picking up S2 items
