New OTA adapter

On Friday, I made three different calls to DirecTV (for the fifth, sixth & seventh time) to request again a LCC.

Over a year ago, one of may locals was dropped, then a few months ago, another one was dropped. So with all the Nextstar talk, I thought I'd give it another shot. Spoke with a brand new employee in the Loyalty Department here in the states, then the Tech Department in the Philippines, both to no avail. Last call was back to the Loyalty Department where they offered me $40 off per month for 12 months along with the Sports Pack for six months for my troubles. I took it after clarifying that it wouldn't lock me into another year's contract.

The reason was the same ol, same ol: It's not available in your market.

I like my new bill, but I'd really like a LCC.

Do you currently have a channel in dispute? If so you can get an LLC. I just ordered one two days ago.

No, in both cases where my channels were dropped locally, they were just dropped. No negotiations or anything like the Nextstar stuff going on now. DirecTV just decided to no longer carry those two locals. One was a religious channel and the other was the CW Network channel. So in providing or not providing an LCC, my kind of local channel loss doesn't qualify.

I've described my scenario in more detail in Post #130 beginning on page 7 of this thread.
