Hello from Minnesota! I'm Bob, and I've long been a reader of the DTV forum, especially for the Cutting Edge info; unfortunately, I seem to be having issues with a new Cinema Connection Kit self-install, and I'd like to ask the members of the forum for advice.

My main question is this: it's been since this past Wednesday evening since I've set up that kit, and on our main DVR (HR24-200), the online features work perfectly, but on the two H24-200 boxes we have, nothing shows up - even the one the Kit is connected to directly! If you have any tips, I'd really appreciate hearing them. (Again, it works in the living room, on an HR24-200, with our Whole Home connection, but not on the two H24-200 receivers; they are both running 0x740 software. Also, on the new wireless bridge box they sent us, all the lights are green.)

Thanks for any help you can give me. -Bob

Thanks for your speedy reply!

My wireless network router? It's a Linksys E2000, and as I said in my previous post, if I try accessing the on demand features from the living room receiver (HR24-200), it works perfectly, so I know the bridge is set up correctly - especially since the only way for that rig out there to access the internet is through this kit, and that's hooked up in my bedroom, closest to the wi-fi router, as per the installation instructions. The part that makes no sense is that the receiver everything is physically connected to hasn't got the on demand features available yet. ???

How od you have the receivers hooked up and the cinema kit hooked up.

Each receiver should be connected to the SWM network, and NO receiver should be connected to ethernet.

The wireless cinema kit should be connected to the SWM network like a receiver, and then connected via ethernet to the router or wifi to the router.

If any receivers have ethernet hooked up remove it and reboot the receiver.

on demand is only going to be available on your hr24 as it is a dvr receiver, non dvr equipment does not have access to on demand unless you download to your dvr and watch it from the list on your h24's using whole home dvr.

Okay, that would make sense. I was just hoping that you could browse from any receiver, and do the recording on the DVR - like we already do with normal programming.

Plus, I was hoping to get Pandora, too, without needing another "smart" device connected to the TV. Oh well. :-(

Thanks for the answers, everyone. It's obvious this forum has some very knowledgeable and helpful people on it, and I appreciate your time. See you next time! -Bob

It's hooked up precisely as you have described it, and how it's detailed in the installation instructions; no Ethernet cables were harmed or utilized in the connection of this equipment.

It appears Mr. HIFI has found the reason it won't work, so I'll just have to be content with the way it works (Living room/DVR area only). Thanks again!

There was a Security bulletin issued on the Linksys/Cisco E series routers, regarding a Zero Day exploit. It is possible that Cisco pushed an update to lock down those routers, until they get a fix out, is why you are having problems. Even though everything is connected as it should, the fact that Cisco & the security community has ID'd a way to get into these particular routers, would not surprise me that Linksys has locked certain items down (ie UPnP, etc.).

I would try a different router, before ruling out something else. Also use a Ethernet tester, to make sure that all keystones on any cables that you ran are properly terminated (I use 568b, other people use 568a for pinout), and that there is no possible nicked or broken wires. The testers run around $60 for this one. http://www.lowes.com/pd_111115-1270...L=?Ns=p_product_qty_sales_dollar|1&facetInfo=

I use a TP-Link TL-R600VPN wired router in my setup, and have a switch between the router and where my DVR & Blu-Ray player sits. That has worked flawless in my case. Just suggesting to try a different router, and test the wiring, before ruling out DirecTV equipment problems.

Also, who is your ISP, and what is the speed you are paying for Download, and what does the speedtests at either your ISP's speed test website, or speedtest.net showing?

Pandora is available on the dvrs, but it takes a couple of days to show up sometimes.

As I have already explained, I was under the impression that once you connected up the kit as directed, I would have full access to all of the online capabilities on EVERY receiver in our Whole-Home setup; i.e., not only on the HR24, but also on the two H24 non-DVR receivers. As has already been mentioned, that impression was incorrect. I *do* get the online capabilities on the DVR receiver, as I have previously mentioned, and I do NOT get them on the H24's. Now, if there's someone out there that has detailed information that you CAN get Pandora on the H24 (non-DVR), as well as search and browse, please share that with us. Otherwise, I'm going to have to be content with what works for us right now.

Thanks.
