I'm back and forth, so did the upgrade and all went smooth as expected.:)

I added a Universal LNB to my dish the day the last firmware file was released.
I have successfully updated to the new one using the "Upgrade By Satellite" feature.
Thank you for the quick fix!

i updated on the satellite. how do i know i have the latest update installed. i updated, rebooted, did factory refresh, and loaded userdb and allcode from the flash drive. i have software version tdv10290-1-0-2-0. product version hdvs54012-1108249a0 2012-5-25. i can't match those codes with what has been indicated... charlie

My update seems to have had a burp! The upgrade was successful. Performed the factory reset and checked the FW dates on the info screen. When I reloaded the user data it was also successful. When I hit the exit button there is a no channel message and there are in fact no channels or antenna setup. I had a second copy of the user file on a USB stick so I tried to install it with the same result. The user fie can be viewed with the ALI editor and all the channels are there.

I tried to configure 30W manually, selected it from the Antenna list and hit exit. There was no saving message. Went back into the antenna list and 30w was not selected. After several tries, did another factory reset. Now it lets me save sats to the antenna and blind scan them but no luck loading data from either saved user file. Any suggestions to save me from an evening of rescanning?

Tried that but no luck. Thanks for the suggestion. When viewing the user file using the ALI editor I don't see anything for LNB type or V-box position. Is that stored in a different file from userdb.udf? The last upgrade worked perfect. The only thing I did different this time is the factory reset which I didn't do the first time.

You MUST power cycle the STB after any update.

Here are the steps:

1. Update the receiver firmware.
2. When completed, remove the power for 5 seconds and repower
3. Perform a Factory Reset. This will erase all channels and reset to the default data base file. No satellites will be selected in the satellite list, so no satellites will be available in the Activated Satellite List. Without an Activated Satellite List, the Motor /Switch Setting, Single Satellite Search, Multi-Satellite Search and the TP list will be greyed out and unavailable. The unit is reset to the way that you originally received in, unprogrammed.
4. Update the .udf file
5. When completed, remove the power for 5 seconds and repower. Your previously saved satellite / transponder / channel list will now be available.

Do not load ALLCODE as this file is the old .abs firmware file that you have previously saved to the USB! You are overwriting the new version firmware file with an old version firmware file.

I followed those steps exactly. The .udf file was backed up twice, to a USB drive and a USB stick. The files both open with the ALI editor and all the channels are there. They crash the media box editor with a subscript out of range error that requires ending the process from the task manager.

microHD ALI Editor or another version? Yes, they are different! You may have corrupted the channel lists.

Reinstall the firmware and perform a Factory Reset. Might try reloading the .udf.

Both editors were downloaded from this site. I didn't try to open either file with an editor until after they didn't upload properly to the micro.

Universal 5150/10750 scan working great!

How to hook up since I have a KU LNB and a C lnb?
