I was hoping it would go to 103W to get rid of the funky skew.

Makes you wonder if AMC4 has some solar array issues. Send over AMC2 to help out so they can keep the power going on the CBand side. If I remember right AMC2 had a bad footprint in my area when it was at its original spot.

I'll have to do some digging to see if they release their satellite fleet health on the filings reports like Echostar does.

when AMC2 was at 85 the first time around it sucked and when it moved to 105 for Dish the footprint sucked in MN. But when it moved back to 85W it worked fine

When did AMC2 move? Wasn't aware they had it at 105 at one time.I know AMC-16 that is there now went to 118.7 and back to 85 and covers a lot better than AMC2.

oh sh*t...just another screwup to remember :(

Horizons 2 should be taking over for Galaxy 17 at 74° West any time now. Galaxy 17 will soon move to 91° West and replace Galaxy 11. SBS 6 is still alive and will soon arrive at 81° West.

when Dish first started the Superflop err Superdish AMC2 was at 105. Duluth, MN locals were going to be on 105 then Dish found out the footprint sucked in MN (cutoff was near Mpls)so they were going to put them on 61.5 then decided (at the time...this is before Echo10) to cram 6 stations on 3 spotbeams (2,8,10 at the time)

SES says EchoStar is finished with it shortly and it will go to 101w to do service along wIth AMC 4 It will allow one of them to send feeds to South America and still maintain the North America feeds. Could be C band and/or Ku band

where is AMC2 right now?? still at 85W?

I wish they would quit moving them around. Confuses people like me ;)

AMC-15 helped with signal issues on the Dayton locals when it replaced AMC-2 at 105. I remember when AMC-15 was launched. It was tested at 136° and I posted this screenshot back in October 2004. :D
