New install - lost signal for a few minutes during the rain today

Yesterday I had a new install of an HR54. Today was the first rain and we lost the signal for a few minutes.

The rain is gone and the channels are working again. The following are the signal strength from satellite 101:

1-8 96 98 97 82 98 100 98 100
9-16 98 99 98 0 99 100 98 100
17-24 98 0 98 52 98 100 98 100
25-32 97 0 97 86 98 100 97 100

Are any alignment adjustments needed?

That is excellent signal for 101. With those kind of numbers I'd imagine 99 & 103 are good as well?.?.?

Which 99 and 103 should I check. There is 99 (ca), 99 (cb), 99 (s), 103 (s), 103 (ca), 103 (cb)

What does ca, cb and s stand for?

i notice your location says midwest. we get some very powerful, very small cells of weather moving through. intense thunder, lightning, and rain for 10-20 min at a time. losing signal for that is normal.

Those are good signal strength numbers. Although they could be a little higher, you will still lose signal in a fairly strong rain storm for a few minutes, maybe a little longer.

They look good also. It would be really hard to get them any higher, especially without a meter. Your signal loss isn't because of an out of tune dish, just weather related.

Give us a zip code and we can pin point a bit better.
You have a few options when this type of thing happens, often times channels from a different transponder may still be working, try a different channel.
Or, switch your set up to SD channels, instead of just HD, doing this will allow you to tune to a SD channel and that may be still working.
HD signal is much tighter as it's on a different band.

To add a little for more the OP: You probably won't lose the SD signal, except for like the darkest red on radar. I switch over to SD if I lose the HD signal to a storm. I have only lost 101 (most of the SD channels) a handful of times in several years of service for merely seconds at a time. I have also only lost the 119 (mostly Spanish) a few times in several years. But 103 and 99 (Where nearly all the HD channels are) are the first to go in a storm.

If you live in an area that gets snow, light fluffy snow does nothing to the signal. It can accumulate lightly on the dish and all is fine. Ice/Sleet/Heavy snow is like a storm and will kill the HD signal quick, but if you keep it brushed off it's not as bad.
