New information on CableCard

I didn't see any recent posts about cable cards, and couldn't reply to this old thread
so here is a new thread. What, if anything, happened with the cablecard and FIOS TV? Did the NDVR stuff ever happen? All I found it google was some information about Verizon and TiVo trying to influence the FCC as they each fought over the implementation of CC.

Verizon requested a waiver from the requirement and the FCC has yet to respond. There are some links regarding this over at DSLReports.com in this thread.
