new hopper/joey user with some ?'s

I had 2 hoppers w/sling & a wireless joey installed yesterday........and now I have a couple of questions


1. I am not able to access tuner 3 on either of the hoppers, can select tuner 1 or 2 with no problem, although during the install, I thought that the installer had tuner 1 & 3 in use while tuner 2 said it was downloading guide info

2. with the 722, you could select tuner 2 to be used for the recordings, but on the hopper you can't. If you select something to record, and then turn on the tv to watch something, does the system automatically select a tuner for you to use or does this have to be done manually

3. is there any way to remove the VOD selections from the guide

4. the joey does not show the phone line as being connected, but it shows when a call arrives

recording and watching will use any free tuner. PTAT uses tuner 3

Yes, lock and hide channels in the parental controls.

Give your system a few days to settle in and all should be better....

yes it has a duo node

anyway to keep the video on demand channels from showing in the guide......I don't have the hoppers connected to the internet

It did initially right after the install........but it doesn't now...........they all say available

Easiest thing to do is create a Favorites list with just the channels you care about. But AGAIN, give the Hoppers another day or two.

To block the PPV and vod channels, you can set parental locks that will hide those channels. I like that better than the favorites list, because it's less time consuming, and I get to see free previews as they appear. Also sometimes the favorites list will revert back to blank, or start missing a channel. Not always, but I hate having to reset those back up

Agree with Chad here. Go ahead and channel lock anything you don't care about and you'll never see them. I have 70+ channels I don't care about locked out (shopping, most of the music channels, all the non-501 PPV, VOD channels, miscellaneous others) and never have to see their noise in the guide.

good idea...........I knew you could block out the adult channels, but didn't know about the vod or ppv
