New HD on DishNetwork? "Soon" might be right around the corner...

Does anyone remember the old Saturday Night Live weekend update when, in reference to a Kenny G. Christmas album, Norm MacDonald said "Happy birthday Jesus, I hope you like crap"? That is the best way I can explain how I will feel if E* makes these 5 uplinked channels available without giving us Sci-Fi, USA, or FX.
No HD news from the Tech Chat. Which to me is kind of sad since they advertised it as an HD chat. (Then talked for almost 30 minutes about the ATSC conversion trying to sell their boxes then at the end they say "but if your a dish network customer you dont need one of these."
Excuse me but who the hell else was watching this show? Why did they waste my time?
To me to while its an honor I think its sad for you to find out any information about Dish Network that you need to hear it from me before you hear it directly from Dish Network. Dish had the chance to talk tonight and they chose not to open their mouths.

Yeah, it was a HD tech chat about hardware, not software. 
On the hardware, or should I say software enabled hardware, there was "summer 08" for the EHD VIP 211. That's about all I learned on that chat. Speaking of which, do we know what the fees for such an EHD will be? $40 plus DVR fee?

Yep...I have to say that I'm terribly disappointed. I've been with E* for 11 years, if my math is right, and will wait it out, but my expectations were high tonight. BUMMER :down
I must concur, I came home tonight after my meeting and was VERY excited to hear of all of this HD goodness from the Tech Chat, what an utter disappointment.
I'm confused. Everyone's talking about those most recent 5 uplinks (Tennis HD, MGM, whatever) and saying no Sci-Fi/USA HD.
But haven't SciFi HD and USA HD been uplinked for a while now? Or did those uplinks go away?
Are those more recent 5 trumping the older uplinks, or have they just made the queue of crap that we're waiting for that much bigger?
Or has it been so long that people don't remember that Sci-Fi and USA HD are allegedly uplinked?
So in the next batch of new HD, have Sci-fi and USA fallen of the charts or would they be in addition to those 5 new channels (that we may or may not EVER see at this rate!)
I was disappointed but then I realized that nothing new has come out of the chats for awhile considering i learn everything first from this site.
They are still uplinked, but I dont think well see them for awhile. Theres prolly contract problems.

You can't use the word "uplinked" when you see just call sign in system tables and knowing there are no content !

Another possibility is that it has been reported that Sci-fi and USA have what appears to be a slate (based on bandwidth) whereas these other 5 appear to actually have a video feed with them (again based on the bandwidth reported to members).

I guess you didn't see the ads for the Tech Chat that Dish was running. In addition I was contacted by two inside contacts who said HD would be the topic for the night. No speculation on my report, only reporting what I saw on the commercial and what I was told by my contacts.

Maybe it's time to admit that Dish has been feeding you bs along with the rest of us and take the gloves off.
There have been "rumors" and "insinuations" about Dish releasing new HD not just at CES and on Feb 1st but since shortly after "D" added their new HD channels. How many of you still actually believe they ever intended any of it?
Maybe it's time for Dish to realize SatGuys is a force to reckon with - both good and bad. It's a two way street. They give us the straight story and we can help disseminate it but they give us a line of dogshit and we can make things a little uncomfortable for them too.
That's the way it's supposed to work Scott.
I'd have a whole lot more respect for Charlie if he came out and said they just don't have the capacity right now or they've been unsuccessful in certain negotiations or whatever but don't try to buy time with Bullsh!t hype that's only intended to deflect and keep churn down.
BTW, putting call letters in empty uplinks, knowing full well it will create a bunch of discussion over here is just as much "BS" as floating a lies to Scott. It's still deception.
