2. The Blu-Ray is better quality
3. The Blu-Ray has better overall backing
4. The Blu-Ray has better usage possibilities across all platforms
5. Blu-Ray hardware is backward compatible to play both new and old discs
BUT
6. HD-DVD can use most of current factory setup, will not reflect in user costs, just industry costs (more profit for them)
7. HD-DVD will have tighter industry control
8. HD-DVD should also be backward compatible
9. Both system's hardware will cost nearly the same
10. Both discs at retail will cost nearly the same
