As for your 4k tv, this receiver can pick up the FTA Nasa 4k and the 4k UHD-1 channel on 101w, and downrez them for showing on a 1080p tv.
It's still an incredible picture.

I just don't want to "push the wrong button" due to lack of documentation
These software images are "open source." They're not going to come with a 50-page manual. I second what primestar31 said; we're all learning this together, and this forum is one of the best places to learn.
Sure, if Titanium had unlimited hours of the day to write a huge manual for one iteration of a particular image he could, but these images change and update too frequently; it would be obsolete within a few months (or even weeks). I feel like you're expecting too much too quickly; we'll always try to help as much as we can but we don't have all the answers either (yet!)
what's the possibility of having an FAQ done? I guess I'm on my own. I won't ask anymore questions.
That's a very good idea, maybe posted at Titanium's site and here in FTA FAQ of Free To Air Discussion section. That way all you lucky folks who have on of these and worked your way through on your own could help out other folks (like me) who aren't lucky enough to have one yet but may get one someday.Anyway, what's the possibility of having an FAQ done?
Yes, works great on a LAN, but no transcoding not suitable for low bandwidth internet streaming. WebIF, VLC, PotPlayer, MXplayer, etc. are often used or some prefer a smartphone / tablet app. An Enigma2 client could be added to Kodi on any device. Port 8001
Was watching the CBS 4:2:2 primetime programming earlier this evening via the Android phone with DreamDroid app. For a bigger live stream screen, cast to the Samsung TV.
I don't have a Samsung SmartTV so I need to be able to cast to a Roku Ultra. It would probably help to have an Enigma app for the Roku since the existing Roku mirroring/casting apps don't seem to work with the DreamDroid smartphone app. I was going to try R-Cast but the smartphone app isn't in the GooglePlay store. I guess I'll have to keep on searching for a solution. Besides, if all the functions aren't in one app it becomes just as much a hassle as having multiple remote controls.
Miracast, Chromecast, Anycast, Firestick... any of these inexpensive devices would be simple to mirror an IOS or Android smart device rather than attempting to create a new interface for a Roku device. Maybe a cheap Android box from Amazon?
I'll probably buy a DTV dongle.
Make sure you get a 950Q. On Ebay $20
I was looking around and there's a newer model. I don't like buying used stuff but I think I'll buy the 950Q anyway - doesn't look like there's a new/unused one available. Uh, does this work with NA DTV? ebay states ntsc but not atsc.

I'm trying out the OpenVIX image and so far I like it. PurE2 didn't impress me but I do like the SatDreamGR image also.
