I didn't want to hijack the other thread which was started concerning the old player.
First, glad to see the move to modern technology for streaming--kudos. Looks nice, too.
However, there are a few features of the legacy player that are already missed. The first, and most annoying/concerning, is the lack of being able to set bandwidth usage (SD vs HD). My network is right at the cusp of being able to support the higher resolution. And, just like with the old player, it tries to use HD, goes for a short bit, then buffers, gets real blurry, drops to SD, and then at some point goes back to HD, only to repeat the process. Setting the old player to SD avoided this problem and, on a smaller screen, really made little quality difference. Plus it saves on data caps. Being able to permanently set the resolution for a playback device would be nice to have.
Another issue, albeit minor in comparison, seems that having the guide always visible affects the ability scale the player window out past a certain point. Scaling smaller works great. I think the ability to hide the guide would help both scaling out to customize the player size as well as remove the vertical scrolling from a smaller window. The scrolling guide inside the scrolling window is a bit awkward, such as when you reach the top of the guide and it scrolls back to the player.
One other thing I noticed after seeing OTA channels from the Savannah, GA area in the guide is that apparently my cached credentials in Chrome brought me to someone else's DVR! Seriously. A logout corrected the issue, but apologies to the owner of a receiver ending in 210 for recording Fox and Friends this morning.
