I didn't figure they bid for the entire corporation; which is why I asked; because the post said "Echostar just bought Hughes Corp"; and I wasn't sure that was actually the case. And , have they actually bought it; I think they have just made an offer to buy / take over right?

Yeah they made an offer at about $2 billion and the deal is expected to close later this year.
