Well guys,
I made the switch from Cable modem to DSL earlier this week. So far, I have no complaints. I did get kicked off line and had to re register my modem once, but that was due to a power outage.
I know that my cable was faster, but my DSL is 1.5 and that is fast enough for me since I don't do much downloading anymore. I must admit though, I was pretty upset with the cable company when I cancelled my internet. Before I switched to the DSL offer, I called Insight and asked them if they had any kind of comparable rates to my DSL offer. No was the answer. I verified with them how much my service would be if I dropped my internet and only kept digital cable(only until I get dish, but they don't know that), It was confirmed at 54.00. When I called and cancelled my internet, they said that they would give it to me for 30.00 a month and two free months if I kept their service. I had to sign a 1 year contract to lock in my DSL at 26.00 a month, so now it was too late for me to switch back. Then She told me that my monthly rate for my digital cable was going to be 73.00 instead of 54.00. Which I was able to talk to a supervisor and get it back down to 62.00, I had to take a price increase for not having the bundled package.
Anyway, I am happy so far with my switch from cable to DSL. If that changes I will be sure to post that.
