Ya, and they were sent a AM21 FREE of Charge, which I was told they could not do.
I've replaced 2 HR20's with HR24's and ended up having to order AM21's from Solid Signal at MY COST.

They were NO help when I changed from a recvr with OVER THE AIR to one that didn't ....

Thats one of the few issues I have with D*.

For the most part I'm pretty happy with them.

Honestly even I dont know how he got an am21.... unless it was a glitch in our new order system or he spoke to a retention person.

If he's in a NON-LIL market, I believe D* will normally supply them at NO charge...at least that's what I am always reading on dealer faxblasts...

only as a closing offer for a sale. after activation it generally causes a charge.

One more question...

If I purchase a new HR24 on my own, install on my own, does D* still have to send a tech out to replace the splitter? Originally installed the 1 HR24 and 1 H24 which I think uses only 3 channels vs. the 4 channels used by 2 HR24's? Does that sound right? If so, maybe I can just install a new splitter myself with some help from the pros here @ Sat Guys?

The number of "channels" the receiver uses has no bearing on how large of splitter you can use - as long as you have an empty port on the SWM splitter, & you have NOT exceeded the # of tuners the LNB supports, that's all that matters...
