I am sorely disappointed in Dish. CNN-HD, for heavens sake, when the result there will be niche on niche and there are attractive alternatives! I just hope CNN-HD is paying Dish tons of money for the carriage.

Another Mary Poppins channel would have been much better.

My may point is how rediculous that statement is and how marketing people can try and spin something they dont have any business spinning. It was intended to be funny

More rediculous statements:

"New York State is, Hand Down, the leader in responsible spending and low taxes"
"Soccer is,Hands Down, the most exciting sport there is"
"Pitbulls are, hands down, the friendliest pets there are"

"The food item below is, hands down, the most healthy thing you can eat"

Even though we already have a Official No New HD Complaint Thread, I am going to make this the official, I am pissed off at Dish for adding CNN instead of ______ (insert favorite channel).

Please, feel free to add as much vile as you want to THIS thread. But any new ones to the same point will be closed and merged into this one.



And for what it is worth, I am pissed off as well.

I don't understand it. To me Dish is a total failure at this point. But (and I emphasize BUT), DISH closed on the stock market up $1.07 today (for $31.56 per share). Someone, somewhere in business thinks Dish is doing something right. Also, SATS (Echostar) closed with an increase value as well.

Just watched "Warzone" on CNN HD. Seriously, politicians generally do not look good in High Definition.

Then Larry King came on in upconverted SD (looked like crap), so I switched to Flyboys on the DVR.

I havent watched CNN on E* yet, but from what I did see on my D* system, at least the PQ is good. At least it is something. Right?

It appears that the phrase "hands down" between commas means simply "not" - as in the following examples:

Britney Spears is, hands down, the best role model for your preteen daughters to emulate.

Microsoft is, hands down, the leader in Open Source software development.

and of course the classic: Dish Network is, hands down, the leader in HD.
