New channel "Local Now"?

Noticed a new channel called Local Now today.
Seems like a combination of The Weather Channel, AP News Updates, and sports scores/schedules. I think it would be nice to watch for a few minutes when getting ready in the morning. Is this a sign that The Weather Channel is on the way?

I will say also that I'm impressed with how localized it seems to be. It's showing information for my state, a local traffic map, local weather, etc.

Oddly, it reminds me a bit of TouchVision, but with much less original content. They should actually hire some of the former TouchVision staff because I think it would be a good fit.

I saw nothing but a fixed screen this evening....kind of like coming soon screen but no programming at 5:26 PM EST

I went back and forth with Sling TV support, and while they have been saying it "should" work on iOS devices, it is not yet fully supported. It's only supported on the platforms listed above (PC, Mac, Amazon, Android).

I just checked it out on my computer, its really cool how it makes a local news cast like that. Although I wish they had more than online line for each local news item.
