New azbox software out

Since you can only scan one symbol rate I dont get much

I guess I can try it on 87W C-Band....tons of feeds with same symbol rate there

blind scan still sucks and it bogged down the receiver

going back to an old model 4295 or something like that...much smoother

Ice, is right! They now have what appears to be a Virtual drive "USB CDROMUSB-1" and when you try to use it is gives an error "Not Supported file system". The signal meter is also very slow to respond. I also noticed that you cannot do a Timeshift because "USB CDROMUSB-1" is the only drive that appears in TimeShift window to be selected as a drive. By some luck you have both your installed USB drive and "USB CDROMUSB-1" appear as option drives for timeshift, the moment you reboot, it defaults to "USB CDROMUSB-1" only. I'm going back to the firmware before this latest one when i get a chance.

Trouble logging on to the AZBox FW release site

If you are having trouble logging on to the site: http://fw.azupd.com/ just keep trying. There is evidentally a server issue, which has been reported elsewhere, but if you keep retrying it will eventually open.

You might see this error:

Well after I went back to what software I had (4295) I got the infamous satellite list from hell where they loaded all those European sats in there. Use to not do that.

Well I went through and deleted...oh I dont know....200 sats or so. UGH!

I have that stupid problem all the time. That sat list thing drives me crazy.

I've noticed that unless you are using real old firmware, any feed that has Dolby E stutters after about a minute and a half. Anyone else noticed this?

Yeah, that's what I went through on Friday, after trying to experiment with your diseqC-1.2 issues. Took me a couple hours to get back to where I was, or at least ALMOST back to where I was.
I think from now on, I am going to try to download the 3 *.DAT files on a regular basis, so that I have a good working set. Friday, the only working set I had was one from prior to my last firmware upgrade. I put that in, but it kept replacing my DVBS.DAT file with the default.
The _NEXT_ time this happens, I'm going to try to replace the DVBS.DAT file in the backup directory also, so that when it tries to replace my file it will replace it with the same file. I've been a little reluctant to do this in the past, because I was afraid that since the Azbox didn't like something about the setup, causing it to replace the file, that it might end up in a rebooting loop or something, however I'm now thinking that the worst that could happen would be me having to do a format the application area step, and then load in the 3 DAT files, then go through the same couple of hours deleting sats. But if it works, it will save a lot of time.
THe strange thing is, that back when I first tried the 2880 editor program, I swear that I was able to upload all three files without it going beserk and putting that whole list back in, but now that I'm using 0.9.4585 , it seems to want to replace that DVBS.DAT file with the default for some reason. I'm able to get the new file in there, but on rebooting, it gets replaced for some reason.
I wonder if there is some kind of error log in the Azbox OS, that would indicate WHY it decides to replace that file?

I ended up deleting all the sats in there but the ones that it is actually hooked up to :)

so its nice to see 7 sats in the list
125W KU
121W C-Band
105W KU
99W C-Band
0.0 motorized (feed from my motorized)
0.0 motorized DBS
0.1 motorized 2 (feed from the 2nd motorized)

so much smoother

Everytime I do that if I have to reboot, boom..... Euro and asian sats all back.

reboot as in factory reset?

I know if you do a factory reset it does that but until this latest "upgrade" when I updated the software my sat list (which until recently was just the sats I could see) would stay in tact

Well, I got brave, and decided to TRY to get my Azbox to plug that BIG default file back in. Yesterday, I was using the AzboxEditor sucessfully with respect to downloading FROM Azbox, and uploading TO Abox, so I thought that if I tried changing the files, and uploaded them, that maybe I could get it to put the default file back in.
Well, before I did this, I decided to re-organize the directory where I have AzboxEdit and all the associated files. Somehow, I messed things up, and AzboxEdit wouldn't run right. I finally reinstalled it (I thought), ran it, deleted one satellite which was a duplicate, and uploaded it to the Azbox.
 AzboxEdit froze up. I terminated the process, ran it again, rebooted the Azbox, downloaded from the Azbox, and it looked like I still had the small satellite file, and the duplicate sat was gone.. But then I went to the Azbox, and tried to go to a satellite, and all the channels were grayed out, saying no data available, and all the satellites were scrambled relative to longitude, ie they didn't have longitude data, or anything else for that matter.
So, I pulled up my FTP program, and FTP'd the 3 DAT files I had saved before starting all this. Rebooted the Azbox, and everything was back to normal.

Then, I realized that the AzboxEdit program that I *THOUGHT* I had reinstalled, was actually the 2880 version, not the more recent 2880a version. So I uninstalled, and reinstalled 2880a . Started it up, and downloaded from the Azbox, tried to delete the duplicate satellite. AzboxEdit bombed!

So now, I can't seem to do much of anything with any version of AzboxEdit, or any version of MAZ, other than download, and maybe upload an un-modified file (although I didn't try that today). But at least, I've had success using a plain old FTP program for restoring a good version of the files.

Nope. Just a simple reboot. I'm using 4295 currently. I had mine all deleted. They are back now:(
