Hi,I have looked through the forum and other forums and I am not finding or not seeing what I want maybe you you all can help.I bought the Viewsat ultra with motor sg2100 and switch. It has a Quad Polar Legacy 4 O/P LNB. I am not finding the answers to my questions in the instructions. What I would like to know is how to hook it up. I am trying to start with just the dish and no motor, do I need to hook the switch up to the LNB? I don't know what the c & l connections are and which one to use. And most of all I don't know what Satellite to use.In one of my instructions they recomend using the Intelsat Americas 5 but I do not see it in my line up in ant setup. I see other Intellsat"s but not that one. I was going to add it but do not know what the parameter's are and where to find them. I also tried to put the name in with the keyboard on the menu but it erased itself at the last part of Americas . I have been trying to get this up for two weeks now and I am frustrated but not giving up. My location is

Davie , Fl 33324
Lat 26 N
Long 80 W

I do get some signal on some satellite's but not much and no channels. Please help Thanks ,winddragon

What dish and dish size are you using?

I assume your LNB is the Universal switchable Quad 40mm Horn DBS LNB 0.3dB QDH-031, high performance, low noise. The L stands for linear, for which you can get most of the FTA sats with. The C stands for circular, which can be used to receive a few echostar channels that are broadcasted unencrypted.

To experiment getting IA5 (97w), go directly from one of the L connections to the receiver. Others members are more familiar on how to connect all connections to the disceq switch, but for now you only need one of the linear connections.

Check out the following website, if you are not using the motor:
GeoSatFinder - Satellite Finder Calculator © Satellite AV

If you are using the motor, check out the instructions at:
How to install an HH-Mount Motor? Satcontrol SM3D22 STAB HH100 HH120 Motech SG2100

Final note, make sure your pole/mount is perfectly level, which is critical for motorized dishes....

welcome to the group
first just set it up with no motor will give you a since of direction the dish need to point to receive signals.
with no switch, connect one of the L connections on the lnb to the receiver
you should probably pick a satellite that is close to your true south and tune it
amc 5 @ 79 degrees should work with a compass it should be 183.2
elevation should be on the dish 59.4 and skew is set at -2.6

once you have the dish set you now have to go into the receiver setup and set it to you satellite and lnb

your LO on the lnb should be 10750

you a live transponder something like 11742V list

hope this helps
