Just saw this morning that Madagascar is now in 1080p on channel 501. Kind of a waste for a cartoon to be in 1080p to me, but at least it is something.

When I get L618, and if it fixes 1080p for me I may have to try it, along with The Beast of course...
I liked Madagascar, but will wait and rent the BD... Directv has some Trailers up in 1080p that look awesome compared to their 1080i counterparts... (Iron Man for one) I need to check out the Beast...
I have the BD of Open Season 2 and just ordered the BD of the original Open Season.
"Cartoons" in HD are excellent, no longer the colored in flat plates of Buggs Bunny, but now full 3D looking computer generated scenes and characters.
The resolution is great.
BTY, I just picked up a used Toshiba HD-DVD player from a pawn shop, it looks maaavelous.
This may be another case where the better technology lost the race like Beta vs VHS.
HD-DVD's are about 1/3 the price of Blu-Ray counterparts, so I'm building a HD-DVD library of older releases of some great movies.

I agree with the last post about how good Cartoons look in HD(I dont know why people always put it down)Last week for the First time (they just turned are locals on in HD)I recorded and watched the Simpsons and King of the Hill in HD,amazing picture.I think it comes down to people who dont like cartoons think its a waste,but I personally think it looks great.
Oh, I'm not doubting it looking good in HD, but I'm kinda disappointed that since we only get 1 1080p event at a time I'd rather have it for a live action movie vs. a cartoon.
For some reason I am not getting 1080P channel 501...I am kind of upset about that...I was getting The Mummy.....but now nothing....weird
Same here, it comes and goes. I think I had none in December for most of the whole month. I can't get it to work with the 1080P anyway so I don't care. You are not alone.
