Don, I am no crusader, but I have dropped the Netflix streaming as of September 1. If I wanted to watch 2-3 movies a day and didn't care about the picture and sound quality, perhaps I would've kept it. I only watch a handful of new movies per month and for those, I want the best possible quality. Which for me means HD and Blu-ray, whenever possible. I pretty much stopped watching movies in SD years ago.
Netflix streaming is not too bad and has potential. I think I will be back in a year or two when the service matures. But with its current quality and selection, for me, it's a waste of money, and more importantly, a waste of time. I'd rather watch fewer movies a month, but pick exactly what I want and get the best home theater experience out of it.
And as I wrote in another thread, by unbundling the streaming from its disk-by-mail service, IMHO, Netflix has lost its main competitive advantage, shot itself in the foot. If I were you, Don, I would strongly consider selling Netflix stock before it's too late...
