I prefer the custom app look, like the Roku has, versus what it looks like on my Panasonic TV or Sony BD player.

The feature of discussion here is definitely "device dependent." Have it checked to continue play, but two roku's (none are roku 3's..) do not, Smart TV always has. Probably a newer feature, not readable on older versions of Roku and other playback devices.
