I've searched here and at DTVs website and I'm still not sure I have an answer to this:

Does DTV provide RSNs as part of the local channels? Specificly, I'm in 04105 and would get Portland ME Locals and NESN all in HD, if I buy the HD package? (in addition to the family package)

Does DTV provide NESN HD 24/7? Dish is only showing some games. (tonight's Red Sox game is in SD only:mad:)

Thanks, Eric

Yes,
D* gives you your local RSN, designated by the team, not D*, with a qualifing package.

I'm not sure if NESN is a 24/7 channel yet, I think they are, but don't know for sure, I am sure they will be if they are not now.

You might want to check the NESN webpage for more info on the 24/7 issue.

I'm in the Burlington, VT market, have the HD package and yes, I get NESN HD on channel 623 without purchasing any sports packages. The Comcast Sports New England channel which has all Boston Celtics games is in SD format on 620, but about half or a third of the time they show their games in HD on 620-1.

Hope this helps!

I'm in WA so I have to buy the sports package but NESN HD is 24/7 here. Not all programs are truly HD but almost every sporting event I've seen on NESN is in HD. I think all Sox games are in HD this year.

Sox are on D* 660 tonight...not sure if that will be HD

I am glad to say NESN has been a 24/7 station for a few years. (now that doen't mean all shows are in HD, since some were made before HD existed like Sox classic games, they show up pillarboxed with NESN HD pillarboxes like the ones ESPN uses.) But the majority of shows are HD and all the games, Sox and Bruins and tennis last night are HD, and gorgeous.
