Hi Guys!!

This is an old hotel, switching from cable to a 36 Ch headend system.
The whole building will be re-wired. I'll need some advise about keeping a good signal level in the rooms, as far as 250 ft from the com-room. Your help will be greatly apprciated.
Thanks in advance.
Kep up the good work.:)

How many rooms? How many orbital locations?

You'll probably need to amplify the signal if the distance go over 200 ft (limit for DP). You could use these amplifiers from Sonora Design:

Sonora - Products

Those will give you 3 orbital locations. As far as rooms you can cascade up to 3 DPP44 switches. That will give you output for up to 12 dual tuner receivers.

Some more info is needed though to determine what you actually need. You also must go with RG6 cable rated to at least 2150 Mhz if you're rewiring the rooms.

Thanks Guys.
Randalla, the Headend will just have the regular 119 & 110. I'm thinking on a Launch Amp to begin with. The building is in a "L" shape, with the com-room in the angle, and one side's lenght is the double of the other.
I really appreciate your help. If you prefer, I can PM you the details of the building, and my ideas, so you can give me your opinion.
Thanks again.

If that's the case you could go with this amp but I would just go with the 3 orbital locations just in case there's the need for 61.5 or 129.

We'll need to know the number of rooms and if there would be dual tuners installed in the rooms. See pages 16 and 18 on this PDF for the use of DPP44 switches. You could do the same with DP34 switches if the plan is to have single tuners only.

Dish has several commercial/MDU solutions, with the one you get being largely determined by the number of units or receivers needed balanced by the price.

One that might work here is Dish Optical. It has a head-end "utility box" that accepts up to 4 DishPro LNBs, converts the signals to optical and puts all 4 on a single fiber optic line to an ODPP43 switch that can drive up to 3 single- or dual-tuner receivers. The head-end can drive up to 512 of those switches.

I don't know what's best here. As garys said, you need to contact Dish Commercial to run the numbers.

Check EKB: MDU for a summary of the methods and links to the different parts of Dish that deal with them. Pictures will be added in the next few days.
