Need new receiver but wait?

My house is in need of another hd receiver for our living room. the problem is we want the whole house dvr, the room we want it in isnt wired, and we dont want to sign a new 2 year contract to get a regular hd box when we can sign a 2 year contract to get a discount on the new whole house dvr

can i call dish for a regular hd box and then return it with the regular boxes for the new whole house dvr or should i use dishstore.com and buy regular hd box then call dish to wire the room.
if i call dish store what do i do with the hd box since i cant use with whole house dvr? and will dish automatically apply another 2 year contract when i request the extra box?
