Need help with wiring mess

OK Im now adding a CS6100 to my DSR920 which is connected to my BUD with a C/Ku co rotor with separate LNBs
I got a diagram for the LNBs to the 920 and Diseq switch but not sure what splitters to use.
Can I use the same 2 way splitters I have in the rest of my coax system?
How do I connect the CS 6100 to my TV?
Can it use the same RF connection as the DSR 920 and set up to channel 4 on one and 3 on the other?
On my projector TV(non HD) I have a choice of several inputs.
Input 1 has video and audio R&L that are RCA jacks and S video.
Input 2 has video and audio R&L that are RCA jacks but no S video
instead it has component video R,B,Y,and a RF jack that my 920 is connected to.
Ive got the CoolSat hooked up to the component video but not real keen on that as I had to disconnect my DVD player to do that.

whats the best way to connect all this so I wont have to do any manual switching to go from 920 to DVD to CS6100?

I believe you will need some diff switches for your c/ku rec + the dvb rec, a certain splitter that passes DC voltage on one leg but blocks it on the other. Check with one of the dealers at the top of page, their websites most likely have these things (Mike Kohl, chime in here !!)
I would say use the component connections for your pay programming , and the s-video/rca audio for the dvb. The 920 has component output, doesn't it? Using modulated rf is the lowest quality picture, I;ve read, so always use the component out puts if you have them.

just visited Radio shack and they had what I think I need @ $20 ea.WOW!
I think Ill use some slide switches until I get this sorted out.
My S video cable is about 2 ft short.
The 920 doesnt have any component outputs but it does have S video.
Cable is too short to reach that also.

I found an S video cable long enough and tried it on my 920 to my RCA big screen but it doesnt seem to work.
Wondering if the 920 has the correct signal out for TV.
It says S video out on the back of 920 and the TV says S video input#1.
I aslo found an S video cable that was an extension pretty neat.
I tried to look up the splitters from the sponsors but site was not working.
I forgot what they are called now so may need to go back to radio shack and ask.

Read the specs on the diplexers.
They are not suitable for your application.

They are meant to bring in terrestrial TV antenna frequencies, along with the signal from your LNBs, both on one cable.
TV is something like 50-850mhz, and the LNB signals are something like 950-2150mhz.
(those numbers are from memory, but should be close enough to make the point)
In the house, the two frequency bands are split out to feed different receivers.

gpat, Anole is telling you that diplexers are for adding a regular terrestrial antenna to your setup so they can run on the same cable. That is not what you are trying to do. The parts you need are cheap. I use the

This works great for adding the coolsat. Here's a diagram.

and, you will find what you need. I speak from experience on this one. It works. As far as what inputs to connect to, it depends what you have open. Since you said you had to disconnect your DVD player, you can either hook your DVD player back up the way it was and, hook the coolsat to either input 1 or 2. You can also leave the coolsat hooked up to component and hook the DVD player to input 1 or 2. Whatever you prefer or have open. Hope this helps you.

While you were replying I was researching this and found out I boo booed
by listening to the guys at Radio Shack.
Ive already ordered the diplexers ($12 for 4 of them shipped) so I guess I ll just
chalk that up.
My RCA projection TV only has one S video input,one component input and one
RF input.
I tried the S video output on my 920 and that didnt work.
Im going to try it on the coolsat next.
I still cant get anything on the coolsat with C band.

Great! Glad your parts are on the way. Looking at your first post for inputs again. I appears you have two inputs PLUS the RF input. Correct? So you should be able to leave your 920 on the RF, DVD player on the component and, put the coolsat on the remaining input. Let us know how it all works out for ya

I tried the coolsat with the s video and it works. I still dont understand why the 920 wouldnt work on S video.
Yes since the S video didnt work or so I thought I was down to 2 inputs. I guess theres always the RCA jack ....

Im pretty well set that I will use the S video for the CS 6100,component video for the DVD,RF for the 920. I may try the fiber from the 6100 to my RCA projection.
Will that work OK?
