Ok, heres the story. I might be starting a new job this week, doing alot of MDU wideband/L band systems. Although I have experience in this field, I have not done it in about 2 years. I have forgotten alot of the little things.
The company's engineer gave me a little test, and wanted to see what I would do. Heres what he asked of me:
To figure out the neccessary amplification fot the following project and to show how much signal would be present at the end of each line.

60 channel SMATV system
30 story building
11 units per floor
3/4 receivers per unit
8 drops
33 unit feeds per drop

The only problem I really have with this is that I don't remember what the typical signal output of the rack is. Just using simple Pico mini-mods and channel combiners. If I could just get that info, I could figure out the rest.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Sorry to say ... to many variables to get even a guessable answer.

For starters:

+ What's the output of the combiner?
+ Are all the drops home run to the head end, split by floor, <gasp> DC'd?
+ What cable type is being used if home run ... if split by floor?
+ What does the engineer want you to hit the back of each TV with (0 to +3dB perhaps?)

Maybe the answer is that there is not enough information to give an answer.
