This is not a FTA question but I know you guys work with lyngsat and different transponder frequency's.

My question concerns the frequency's listed on lyngsat. For instance I am a Hughesnet technician and say if I am pointing to AMC 3, transponder 6k. Now when we put in 6k freq in a modem which is for just about every satellite we use a 6k on we put in 1070. Then every 1K point we add 20, 7K=1090, 8K=1110, 9K=1130 and so on. Now on lyngsat its converted a different way. AMC 3, 6K is 11820. How do you convert that back down to the input freq?

Reason I am asking, I am trying to help a guy who is in Iraq set up a modem on W1@10E. This is what is on lyngsat 11526 V tp D4 HughesNet Europe.

to get the IF frequency, take the frequency from Lyngsat and subtract the LNB LO which I assume is 10750

so lets say Lyngsat shows 11900

11900-10750=1150 IF frequency

so in your above, 1070 would be 1070+10750=11820

If its C-Band then its 5150 - frequency

so C-Band if its 4040 it wouold be 5150-4040=1110

or if you want to be adventurous, hover the mouse on Lyngsat over the frequency and look in the bottom left corner. It shows the IF frequency ;)

Very good. Thanks.

In that case, it would be on the low band of KU so subtract from 9750 (low band is 9750)

11526-9750=1776 IF

I am assuming this. Univeral LNB's use a LO of 9750/10600 for low & high KU. Since its below 11550MHZ which is the bottom of the KU hi Band (10600+950) we have to use 9750 as the begining
