need help with hd upgrade slimline dish

I just had a upgrade to a hd reciever, they installed a new slim line 3 dish. They took down my old dishes. one was for the locals. I get the locals on my hd dvr great. but I have a regular dvr in my bedroom. I cannot get my locals. I called drirect tv to have them send me another hd dvr, they keep sending me a regular one and say I should be able to get my locals. I can't get them. Does anyone know if I do need an hd receiver to get my locals. They have tried to help me and I have been on the phone several times with no luck. Thank You

Your SD locals are likely from 72.5. If they are sending you a new SD DVR then you are probably getting an R22 which will let you get the HD versions down rez'ed to SD.

if your old dvr was an R15 then you won't get locals off of one dish only. Like the other guy said, they are probably sending you an R22 model and it should after you set it up
