Need Help With Error Codes

My DirecTV picture quality is excellent, and I receive all of my channels without issue. However, I keep getting error message 920 about missing guide info on my receivers. When I run a system test through the settings menu I receive an error message that reads "satellite dish alignment problem: diagnostic code 43–72–473." If I then go to the 'satellite' section of the settings menu and click on 'repeat satellite setup' I get error code 82 (119 degree orbital slot is configured, but not detected ). I have already tried unplugging and re-plugging my three receivers. I have a 5-LNB Slimline dish. Is this a problem that I can solve on my own through my receiver or do I need to call DirecTV and/or a service technician to look at my system and dish? Any help is appreciated.

As you noted, you have no signal strength numbers for 119, which is where the guide data comes from in a 5 lnb setup. Your numbers are a bit low over all. I suspect your dish is a bit out of alignment, enough so that the 119 has lost it's signals altogether. If you have access to the dish, check to be sure it's securely anchored at the base and where the dish connects to the mast. If all is tight, then you may have to call Directv and have a tech check it out. If you want, you can try adjusting it yourself, but you could make it worse and you won't have any reception at all! I'd check the dish first and then go from there. Come on back and let us know how it goes.

As chip says, you've zero signals on 119 and that is what is causing the 920 messages. FYI, your signals on 99c, 103ca and 103cb should all be in the high 80s at least, preferably low to mid 90s, and yours are significantly lower than that. As chip posted, it's almost certainly a dish alignment problem.

Even without the 119 bird, those numbers would never allow for EIV. Those 70's should be "86" minimum for 103, and 83 "minimum" for 99. 2% chance the LNB is wonky, but I agree that reflector needs to be aligned.

Knowing where the 119 is in comparison to the 101 in general... I suspect some los issues on the 119. 119 should not be dead with signal on the 101. The chances are slim and none. I agree the lnb probably needs to be replaced but my guess is you don't have los for 119. I forsee a swm3 in your future lol.

Error 82: Receiver set to SL-5 dish but a SL-3 is present. This often causes Guide Data update issues.

You can show signals on the 110 and 119 with a SWM3 or SL3, we call it "ghosting". It'll pick them if you select a 5 on the receiver. It's weird but oddly works. We have a small part of our DMA that's picking up Fort Wayne locals and we've been forced to install a 3 until a 5 is available and it works just fine

The TS did say he has a 5 lnb, so I'm inclined to believe he has a dish out of alignment. I'm guessing you can get a code 82 if the signal strength on 119 is too low.
