Help-I am currently connected to vip622 via component cables for TV1 and have just purchased new LCD tv for bedroom on opposite side of wall from tv1. 2 other tvs are connected to TV2 side of reciever.
If possible I would like to connct new tv in bedroom to HDMI output of TV1 side of reciever to get HD in bedroom and still keep HD on "Nearby" TV. I tried to connect but tv in bedroom shows no signal. Will Tv1 output put out signal to both connections or only 1. I also tried disconnecting component cables from "Nearby" tv but did not help. Sorry for the long post and I hope I was clear enough. Thanks.

Both component and HDMI are "hot". Make sure you are selecting the proper input on your TV, ie HDMI 1. Have you had your older TV hooked to HDMI before? Possibility of bad port on your 622. Go through the variables.

Thanks for the response-The origional tv is older and has no HDMI connections so I have never used this port on reciever before. I have gone through all input selections multiple times for new tv. How can I test reciever HDMI port?

Do Menue/6/3/Analysis/HDMI Test...if you have the option to reset, do so. See if off/on option is available and set to on. If no luck, then I'd say your port is bad and you should get a replacement. If you don't have DHPP, add it to your account before you call. Then dump it when you get the replacement.

Performed the check as directed and no option to reset the HDMI port. Called Ts and have a new receiver on the way. Thanks for the help:up:up

Hey Guys,
One more thing. My rec. came in and I need to transfer my recorded programs to new rec. hard drive. Any ideas on how to accomplish this and how? Thanks grussell

They may waive the $40 fee for an external hard drive to accomplish this transfer since it was bad hardware. Call and see if they will. Then you'll need an external USB hard drive connected. Transfer all the recordings you want to save and the move it to the new receiver and transfer them back (or just keep them on the EHD and have extra room). There are a lot of threads about EHD's here.
