Hello everyone:

I have a dvr that pushes tv to 2 rooms. I would like to add my office to the 2nd room. Since the whole house is cabled already I figured all I would need to do is find the correct coax for my office and the 2nd room and purchase a normal coax splitter to split the signal.

However, when I do this, the 2nd room still works, but the office tv does not get signal. I think I've checked all of the simple stuff. Correct channel, tried multiple coax hook ups... still no luck.

Is there something I'm missing?

Thanks for your help!

So you have a dual tuner box & you're wanting to be able to view programming from the TV2 tuner on TWO TVs, correct? If so, what your doing should work fine. In the summer I have 3 TVs on TV2 (one on the deck) and it works fine. The only thing I can think of would be a bad connection or bad splitter. Maybe the 3rd TV is set for cable & the Dish receiver is set up for a OTA channel or visa versa (sp?)? You change the channel used by going to MODULATOR SETUP, MENU 6-1-5. Good luck!

Did you confirm that the office TV is configured for the correct tuner type (CATV versus AIR)?

Does the office TV work with the second room cable?

Hey guys. Thanks for the help!

It actually turned out to be the TV itself that was the problem. Luckily I had a spare 19" in the garage that I had used when I was in college.

Thanks again!
