I Jail broke my iPhone several months ago and didn't have any issues. But my iPad 2 is another story. I've gone to several sites on the web and they all lead me to Absinthe. I click on the Absinthe download for Mac and it seems to download properly. But when I click on the Absinthe app to open and actually apply the jailbreak to the iPad, nothing happens. It ask me if I want to open or cancel. I click open and it puts the Absinthe icon on the bottom of my screen (task bar?), but it just disappears after a couple seconds. Does anyone know why this is happening? Is there another source besides Absinthe for jail-breaking?

Here's the message I get when I try to open the app.

I don't know what the issue is. I have an iPad1, use Windows, and RedSn0w. I haven't read of this happening to anyone else.

Are you using the most current version of Absinthe?

Perhaps backup and restore your iPad, reinstall Absinthe?

I would check the do not warn me again and then select open. Did you try that and nothing happened?

Yes, I tried that and still nothing.

Also, make sure you do not plug your iPad into the computer until directed. That is often an over site by some (I've done it before myself since each JB is slightly different).

The more digging I do on the web I keep running across things wanting me to pick which Ipad 2 I have. It offers WiFi model, GSM model, and CDMA model. I obviously know what WiFi model is, but what do GSM and CDMA stand for? I have a 32gig verizon model with WiFi and 3G.

Is your 3G with AT&T or Verizon. AT&T is GSM and Verizion is CDMA.

GSM/CDMA are the AT&T/Verizon 3G models. You have Verizon/CDMA.

I hate to say it, but by checking that you made it more likely that malware can be run on your Mac without your knowledge.

Or, maybe not. There doesn't seem to be a System Preference for Enabling/Disabling this warning, so it may pop-up ever time you download something from the Internet. I never check boxes like that because I want to know everything that's happening on my machines.
