Need help Cable TV signal Plus FTA signal

I am trying to combine Cable TV signal and FTA signal from the reciever. I have taken the TV output from the FTA receiver and set it to Channel 4 and cable tv. I have used combinet/splitter and the cable channels work fine but the FTA channel4 doesn't look good.
Is this issolatio issue? What is the best solution to combine them?
I can't use the AV in/out because the TV is Far from the FTA receiver.

Well, there are several options...

1. move the FTA receiver closer to the TV. Benefit: the FTA remote now works.
2. get a UHF modulator, and put the FTA signal on a UHF channel.
- Radio Shack used to sell such a unit, but it was discontinued a few years ago.
Even if #2 doesn't work perfectly, this'll fix it:
3. get proper filters to combine the modulator's output with the cable
