Hi everybody, This is a fantastic forum.:hatsoff:..wish we had found it earlier! Can anyone suggest the best antenna to use with a VIP 211K DISH receiver . Any responses would be GREATLY appreciated!! :)

You pick antennas based on the TV stations you want to receive (what band they operate on, how far away they are, direction, etc). You don't match it to your receiver.

Which antenna gives the best HD? We have DISH service at our home in N Ga & are vacationing in FL, so we brought our receiver with us. But, we have not been successful in setting it up in FL, so we thought the 211k receiver might not be compatible with the antenna that is in FL. The antenna in FL has 2 LNB's & is 5yrs old. Will it work with the 211K receiver?

No HD

It may work but it is unlikely to get your HD channels. Also those could be an old legacy dish and it will work but easier to get new dish. We will need a bit more info on the set-up.

Your question is worded like you were using a TV antenna for local channels instead of asking which dish should you be using.

The FL. dish is a dish 500 and looks at the 110 & 119 satellites (western arc) on WA 129 is the HD satellite so you aren't seeing it. AT the least you need to run a switch check Menu 6-1-1 to tell the receiver what it is connected to for a dish system.
