I am looking into purchasing a new 622 or 722 STB(haven't made my mind up yet). I would like to know what additional hardware that I might need to get everything up and running.

I currently have a 121 Superdish with 3 sat. inputs(110,119,121). I have a DP34 switch, with one output to a 311 bo:mad:upstairs bedroom-this one staying) and another output going to my 811 bo:mad:This one I want to replace with new 622/722-have HD tv hooked up).

I've been told by a local installer that all I should need to do is get a 300 dish, point it to 61.5 sat., remove the 121 input from switch, and replace it with new 61.5 input. Then when I check switch on new receiver, it should read 110,119,61.5 as my sat. reads.

I wish to use the single cable now running to my 811, and use one of those splitters to dual feed the new box. But which one?

Does this sound about right?

it all depends where you are at you can use 61.5 or 129. to be able use 1 cable to the 622/722 you will need to upgrade your DP 34 switch to DPP 44 switch.
THEY ARE NOT SPLITTERS IT'S A SEPARATORs :D

I live in Maine, and was told by Dish that 61.5 is the sat. with all the HD channels.

As to having to get a DPP44 switch to be able to use a SEPARATOR, can I use the DP34 if I run another cable from the switch to new receiver? If I can't and have to buy a DPP44, what is the right SEPARATOR that I would have to purchase?

garys- I don't understand exactly what your trying to say. I have a 121 Superdish with triple LNB's receiving the 110,119, and 121 sat. right now. What LNB is there that has a "switch" already in it? And how can I plug the new 61.5 feed into it? Or are you saying that I can get all three sat. (110,119,61.5) using just one dish?

A DPP Twin lnb (one double sized lnb with two eyes to see both 110 and 119) the switch is built in with an input for a third sat location, what you probably have is three DP dual lnb's. If you have one of these and don't need 121 you don't need another switch, just run 61.5 into it from a second dish (I doubt that you have a DPP twin). There is no dish that will give you 61.5 with any of the other sat locations since 61.5 is almost 90 degrees to the left of 110/119. Didn't mean to confuse you.

If you are trying to get four locations (only since you have a superdish) you would need the DPP44 switch with each of the three lnb's on the superdish and the coax from the wing dish for 61.5 into the switch, and then being able to use the seperator instead of two lines from the switch to any of the dual tuner receivers you may be using.

This is what I have:http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb82/moonwolf222/121dish.jpg

And this is what you recommend I buy:http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb82/moonwolf222/DPPTwinLNB.jpg

So I take off the current LNB's off the Superdish, and install the new DPP Twin LNB. Am I correct to say that the 110,119 feeds will be connected to the two outputs that are together on the left side of the new LNB, and the right side terminal is where I input the feed from the other dish pointing at 61.5?

I will then have two feeds to the DP34 switch(coming from the two outputs on the left side of the new LNB). In essence, there will be two switches?

I don't have any use for the 121 sat. feed as Dish says this is no longer used. Just trying to get 110,119 and 61.5. Thanks.

(edit): One of my questions hasn't been addressed. With my current set up, can my DP34 be used if I unplug the 121 input, plug in the feed from the new dish receiving the 61.5 sat and then run an additional cable from the ouput side of the DP34 to the new receiver( Two cables now at 622, NO SEPARATOR). Will this work? It would save me from having to mess switching LNB's.

A twin will not fit on the SD, you can feed the 61.5 dish to the dp34, unhook the cable from the 121 LNB and hook the 61.5, you will need to run 2 cables from the DP 34 to your 622/722

Where did ESPNHD go?
