yep gone to fiber.....:(

Seems like a trend, South Carolina ETV did this same thing not long ago. As it likely cost driven (streaming intenet has to be cheaper to distribute programming), can Montana, Oklahoma and LPB be far behind?

Yes, very bad.
.
Anyone have a wild idea on how much could be saved?

RT.

I know there will always be something out there so the FTA boxes can catch but if we keep seeying this kind of movement now I see whats the hurry of getting out of the stock and sell as much as possible of cheaper DVB-S2 boxes. Besides many nets moving to fiber and microwave I'm also noticing too many muxes moving to DVB-S2 (which are harder to get) plus many of them activating the encryption flag eventhough they still ITC. Looks like adding more channels in the same TP using S2 signal is cost effective so why not use that saved money to pay for encryptation??? So sooner or later the switch will go on. So sad to see all this coming:(

streaming internet IS a trend and so is throttling the BW, news this week about AT&T. MAKES NO SENSE to me. Providers now want to move to a PAY PER mb kinda model to charge users. Right? No more unlimited. Coming soon.

oh, and I hate to see Nebraska go. oh well. DW is playing LIVE BAND MUSIC right now. (if anyone is interested in rock)

It's all about the $$$$$$...... Profit first. Nothing else matters more. Sacrifice ALL in the name of the Almighty Profit....

Unfortunately in anything entertainment/technology oriented there has to be a profit somewhere, that's the way the US model has been since the late 1920's in radio with advertising..

very true, business wants buisness.... kinda the way this country is formed capitolism not socialism (a failed philsophy)

I asked they answered, "Unfortunately unless you live in Nebraska and subscribe to cable tv then you won't be able to pick us up on fiber. I apologize for the inconvenience. If you have further questions or comments please fee free to call us at the NET Help Desk at 1-800-698-3426." Maybe freedbs will hit lotto & take over their unused transponder now that it will be going dark?

Isnt that what a business WANTS to do to stay in business?
NO profit = NO business

There's nothing wrong with making a fair and honest profit. But people now days are so greedy that they go for obscene profit level and do everything to give you less product at lower quality for higher prices.

THAT is wrong. You can only drive ONE Bently at a time. You can only live in ONE mansion at a time.

  • And then they move to China.

Sorry to see them go, enjoy those varied pbs feeds. But there's still several to watch on satellite. At least for now.
