I am a current user of DirecTV. However many years ago I had DTV and still have the receiver.

The question is can I put these old units to work some were in my home?

I have 5 receivers now and two additional tv's that are running off a splitter from one of them. Yes, they all are controlled from the one and have the same program. Was wondering if I could use as a seperate entity?

Thanks, Karic123

You didn't mention the models , but YES you can ...

One thing to think about is you will only get SD if they are not HD and soon D* will move everything to mpeg4 technology (probably sometime next year) and then they will not work ( you said they were old) but until then, YES they can be used.

You will still have to pay an additional $5 per month to add them on your account. And depending on their age you may have to pay $20per card to replace the old access cards.
