I currently live in Bardstown, and I was wondering if anyone is receiver OTA HD in that area....I don't want to buy an antenna if I can't get a signal!

Thanks,
Sam

Zip

My zip code(where I live) is 40004. I am not sure what the zip code is for Louisville.

The Louisville towers are about 40 miles NNW of you at 338 degrees. All are UHF except WBNA-DT which broadcasts on ch 8. Digital frequencies are ABC 11.1 on 55 back to 11 2/09;CBS 32.1 on 26; FOX 41.1 on 49;NBC 3.1 on 47; Independent 21.1 on 8.

If you are not down in a low spot, and you use a good antenna such as the CM 4228 you might have a good chance. The 4228 is not good on ch 8 but if you do not need it. Also ABC is going back to ch 11 by Feb 2009 - might be an issue, but the 4228 is better on 11 than 8.

From 2 miles north of Bardstown here is what's available. Your reception will depend on the exact location of your house. The correct antenna is a Channel Master 4228 with a preamp such as the 7777. It will have to be on the top of the roof, perhaps with a 10' mast. You will not need a rotator for the main Louisville stations, they're all within 2 degrees.

To see for sure, type your address into www.antennaweb.org .
