NBC, Nat Geo and Discovery Executives Team Up to Launch Justice Network
By Greg Gilman, TheWrap.com - Nov. 10, 2014

Three executives from three major television networks have joined forces to launch the Justice Network in January with help from Gannett Broadcasting, which will provide the network to homes in approximately one-third of the country.

CEO Steve Schiffman, the former president of National Geographic Channels, leads a team consisting of head of distribution Barry Wallach, former president of NBCUniversal Domestic TV Distribution, head of programming John Ford, former president of Discovery Channel and COO Wendy Brown, formerly of CSE.

Lonnie Cooper, a founder of Bounce TV, founded the network with free over-the-air multicast network with carriage on MSOs.

The Justice Network will feature gripping stories of true crime and aim to make communities safer by empowering viewers to take action.

Working in partnership with Crime Stoppers USA, The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and other law enforcement agencies, the Justice Network will dedicate 90 seconds to public service every hour.

The PSA coverage will include 30-second spots dedicated to locating missing children, providing safety tips and locating the “Bad Person of the Week.”

Some programs airing on the network include “Body of Evidence,” “Masterminds,” “The Investigators,” “Psychic Detectives,” “I, Detective,” “LA Forensics” and “Missing Persons Unit.” Watch a trailer for programming above.

“Recognizing that by 2013, half of the top 50-rated prime shows on television were justice-oriented programming, our management team saw the need to satisfy America's obsession with justice,” Schiffman said in a statement. “We are proud to be a part of this unique multicast network's efforts to make a difference in people's lives, fight crime and to keep communities safer.”

i am just relaying the news if dish wants to add the channel it is up to them i think they have a hd feed i have to check

i do not know if it is a subchannel or a stand along channel yes i want it in hd also does anyone know more about this i tried google the channel on the internet it just took to the article.

Why isn't this on Dish yet? Scott, when will this be added? Will the HD version be uplinked this week?

:wave

Read the release, it is not a cable network. It is going to start on Gannett stations on a digital sub channel. I am sure it probably doesn't even have an HD feed.
As to why it isn't in HD on Dish, get in line there are plenty of channels and HD feeds not on, MoreMax, ThrillerMax, OuterMax, TV Land HD, the other Showtime feeds in HD, full time HD RSNs to name a few.

This channel has it even launched yet, and as I have repeatedly stated, it is a digital sub-network for OTA broadcast not cable/DBS. Dish WILL NOT add it. Just like they have not added MeTV, Cozi, Grit, Bounce, AntennaTV, Movies!, or This.

Look at this article in Variety:

https://variety.com/2014/tv/news/tv...ital-justice-network-with-gannett-1201352841/

Notice it states:

"A handful of TV biz vets have partnered with Gannett Broadcasting to launch a digital multicast channel devoted to law enforcement-related programming. The Justice Network will launch as a digital channel on most Gannett-owned stations in January. "

Shouldn't the title read ex-executives of NBC, NatGeo and Discovery are starting a new channel? The way the title reads may lead someone to believe that those networks are collaborating on this venture.
