I would have put this on the Dish HD forum but today showed my brother a recording of this problem and he has had the same thing happen on Time Warner Cable in L.A.

During three primetime NBC shows the dialog has disappeared and the music and sound effects (traffic noise, birds etc) stays. And the commercials are not effected.

It has happened twice during ER and one during Life. And each time it lasted for more than 10 minutes.

This is completely unbelievable on the face of it. How could the dialog track be gone when nothing else is? The only thing I can imagine is SAP kicks in and there isn't any voice track available. But this all seems so improbable.

Anybody else hear this in HD shows on NBC in the last two months?

Still Wrong Forum - there is a Network Forum right next to this one.

Also, like 99% of people with a problem, you didn't give enough information, starting with where you are located as well as which specific channel.

PS Giant Multi-Billion Dollar companies have technical problems all the time. During a recent Jay Leno rerun (also NBC), the picture was blank for about 10 minutes. Your big clue to yourself is "the commercials are not affected", so put 2+2 together...
