Here's the scenario:
I live within a 5 mile radius of my local channels and have no OTA reception issues. DirecTV "has no plans" to carry my local channels. Today, I called DirecTV to cancel my account, opting for DishNetwork, who does carry my local channels. The DTV CSR asked why I was canceling, and I was honest with her, telling her that it was about my local channels. Since I'm "such a good customer", having their service for about 10 years, she offered me the National feeds to keep me as a customer. I declined (a rural Texas boy has little need for New York news and weather).
Now, my question is this: Doesn't the FCC regulations concerning this issue prohibit this when the local channels haven't signed waivers? I know for a fact that the local ABC and NBC affiliates have not, and will not sign the waivers (money grubbing stations).
