Dealers to Receive MDU Install Opportunities

North American Cable Equipment said it entered into agreement with DirecTV to become a master systems operator (MSO). As a MSO, NACE will be responsible for the distribution of DirecTV programming to commercial markets through its network of nearly 6,000 satellite TV dealers and installers.

Initial opportunities will include the delivery of bulk and direct-to-the-home programming to multiple dwelling units (MDUs). NACE system operators will have the opportunity to sell and install complete systems with DirecTV programming to apartment buildings, condominiums, gated communities, assisted living facilities, dormitories, and other commercial sites.

In addition, NACE will provide its system operators with special equipment and financial incentives to win profitable projects. Incentives will include commissions on programming, equipment allowances and equipment financing.

To facilitate quality and profitable installs as a DirecTV MSO, NACE will provide its system operators with business and technical assistance in the form of sample agreements, rate cards, marketing materials, system design review, equipment configuration support, pre-pack headends and complete systems, and system test procedures.
